I live with my husband and daughter in Cortlandt Manor, New York. My studio is located in the town of Peekskill, New York, an artist’s community. I was born in NYC, NY. While still in high school I studied full time at the Art Student’s League with legendary teachers such as the anatomist Robert Beverly Hale and painter Robert Brackman. At Hunter College I earned a Bachelors of Arts degree concentrating in printmaking and art history. While attending Hunter I studied with Robert Morris. Although I was not stylistically sympathetic with him, he opened up new levels of meaning to my art. While pursuing my Master of Fine Arts degree at Long Island University, I became the graduate assistant of Eli Lockwood, a local sculptor teaching foundation art. Lockwood became my friend and mentor helping me to get in touch with a more personal and intimate vision of art. I earned a Doctorate of Education in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. I have exhibited my drawings and paintings in group and one person shows throughout the country and have received numerous awards for my teaching and my art works.
