Tom Halsall has taught painting and drawing at Westchester Community
College in Valhalla since 1972. He is the Chairperson of the Visual Arts
Curriculum and the Computer Arts Certificate Program. He holds an undergraduate
degree from SUNY Buffalo and three graduate degrees from Columbia University
in New York.
While at Columbia, he was a recipient of the prestigious Arthur Wesley
Dow Scholarship. He has also spent time studying in Europe at the La Scuola
Duccio di Bonesegna in Siena, Italy and Humbolt University in Berlin,
Germany. Since his first professional painting exhibition at the Westbroadway
Gallery in Soho in 1972, he has been an active exhibiting artist participating
in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions including Ae Whitney Museum
of American Art, The Neuberger Museum in Purchase, NY; 7-he Hudson River
Museum in Yonkers and most recently 1he HammondMuseum in North Salem,
NY.
